Pepperdine's student newspaper, The Graphic, was awarded first place in general excellence from the California Newspaper Publishers Association among four-year college papers with a circulation under 6,000. This was the third consecutive year The Graphic won its division. In typical Graphic fashion, the article announcing the win misspelled the word "newspaper" as "newpaper."¹
